Routine Exams
The best way to prevent gum disease is effective daily brushing and flossing as well as regular professional examinations and cleanings. Unfortunately, even with the most diligent home dental care, people still can develop some form of periodontal disease. Dr Zemens will assist you with the scheduling of a regular maintenance program to assist your longterm health.
Dental Hygiene
Adults over 35 lose more teeth to gum diseases (periodontal disease) than from cavities. Three out of four adults are affected at some time in their life. The best way to prevent cavities and periodontal disease is by good tooth brushing and flossing techniques, performed daily. The team will assist you with a hygiene program that works for you.
Dental Restoration
Fillings: A filling is a way to restore a tooth damaged by decay back to its normal function and shape. We use both amalgam and white fillings to help you acheive the look you prefer.
Crowns: Where damage to a person's teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain or porcelain "fused to metal" crowns to make the smile appear "as new".
Veneers: Veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility.
Dentures & Partials
A denture or a complete denture as it is often called, is an appliance that is inserted in the mouth, replaces natural teeth and provides support for the cheeks and lips.
A removable partial denture usually consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored plastic base, which is sometimes connected by metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.
